Jasper is an opaque chalcedony that comes in a wide variety of colours. Large deposits of picture jasper can be found in Africa and Brazil but four forms can be found in Oregon including standard picture jasper, Biggs Jasper, Deschutes Jasper and Owyhee Jasper.
 
Some people believe that picture jasper is a landscape stone that helps us find our place in the world and is a powerful grounding stone.
 
This huge slab of Picture Jasper reminds me of my travels and brings back memories of dusty landscapes filled with soft mountains that rise one behind the other as tumbleweed go rolling off into the sunset. I combined it with Rudraksha Mala beads as they seemed to echo the peace of the earth.
 
Each piece I create is one of a kind. Why? I really dislike seeing someone else wearing a piece I had grown to love and think of as my own. Not only do I want my work to be original and unique but I like to make a statement with everything I wear including my accessories. In today's world women need to be strong and courageous and I like to think that wearing a one of a kind statement piece shows that we are just that.
