I live on the dry prairies of the North American West and horses are a very common sight here.  The wild horses here are famous in their own right and something I saw every summer while travelling the backcountry. In lieu of that I just had to create some horses of my own.  I ended up calling all my horses in the series 'Hippie Horses' because they are more a stylized horse than an actual replica of the horse's magnificent body.
 
Kathryn is crafted from polymer clay along with many of the beads and strung on two fine strands of blue leather. I hope she'll make you feel as if you're galloping over the hills into a sunset somewhere on this planet.
 
Each piece I create is one of a kind. Why? I really dislike seeing someone else wearing a piece I had grown to love and think of as my own. Not only do I want my work to be original and unique but I like to make a statement with everything I wear including my accessories. In today's world women need to be strong and courageous and I like to think that wearing a one of a kind statement piece shows that we are just that.
